QD slip on exhaust fitment process to an MV F3 800

As with any job to be done, prepare a clean area to work in, aggregate the tools needed and TAKE YOUR TIME. As components come off, put all the bolts in place so you know where everything goes during the installation process.

NOTES:

  • the threaded clips move up and down on the mount tabs, so be careful when relocating the OEM bolt to line the clip up perfectly and thread the bolt into the clip with care so you do not cross thread the bolt.
  • The QD system comes with the inserts installed to get the improved power and torque. I recommend leaving them in.
  • If you remove the inserts permanently, you will need to remap the fuel injection via the Rapid Bike system or another 3rd party product.
  • If you are going to refit the right rear passenger peg bracket you will need longer bolts and washers or a machined spacer to make sure the bracket is clear of the upper exhaust tip.

Get to work and thoroughly clean every part of the QD exhaust, to remove all the oil from your hands. If you don’t, it will stain – be warned. So do not start the engine yet.
